SWIMMING.

NEW CLUB AT ONEHUNGA.

A verv large and representative meeting, convened by Mr. W. Morton, junr., was held at Holmes's Hall, Onehunga, last evening. for the purpose of forming a swimming club. The Mayor (Mr» J. Rowe) presided, and delivered an enthusiastic address. The convener then explained the of the meeting, and moved the following resolution, which was seconded by Captain B. Gibbons (harbourmaster), and earned unanimously: "That a club be established, to be known as the Onehunga Swimming and Life-saving Club, euch club to be affiliated with the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Swimming Association. On the motion of the Mayor, it wm decided to adopt the rules of the Ponsonby Swimming and Life-saving Club, and the following office-bearers were elected for the season: Patron. Mr. F. W. Lang, M.P.; president* Mr. John Bowe: vice-president«, MMSra I. Lomaa. C. A. Osborne, E. Dane. .8. B. Skinner, J. W: T. Macklow Chas. Bagley, T. V. Frost. Thos. Vernon, John Park, Captain B. Gibbons, Cuntain J. Neale. and Dr. Harke; secretary, W. Morton treasurer, J. P. Boland: auditors, J. P. Dempsey, T. H. Horn; committee. W. Freeman. T. H. Horn, E. J. Hia-tfins, 13. Howard, H. B. McKenzie, J. Gilbert. B. Gordon. It was decided that the membership fee be 2p 6d for adults and Is for boys, and that a carnival be held during April.
