MANGERE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

On the evening of the 11th December the annual treat to the Sabbath scholars of the above Church took place. At six o'clock tea and the substantial viands, provided by the ladies of the congregation, were served to the children. The church was well filled at the after meeting, which, besides referring to the Sabbath-school work of the past year, was also a welcome to the newlycalled pastor, Rev. John Headrick. The Rev. E. O. Perry, who has been temporarily in charge for some time past, was unavoidably absent. In addition to the excellent programme, comprising addresses by Revs. Monro, Ferguson, Headrick, and Mr. John Massey, Superintendent of the Sabbath-school, tea, cakes, and fruit were handed round to all. As on many previous occasions, the Rev. G. B. Monro presided. The following is the complete programme : —Psalm, 133; prayer, Rev. R. Ferguson ; address by the Rev. Chairman; chorus, " God's Holy Church," choir ; solo, " Ora Pro Nobis," Miss Lizzie Robertson ; address, Mr. John Massey ; anthem, " God Bloss our Pastor," choir ; address, Rev. J. Headrick ; organ solo, Mrs. E. Allan ; solo, " Rest," Mrs. Mellsop; anthem, "I will Sing Unto the Lord," choir ; duet, " Where do You Journey," Misses Scott and Wallace: anthem, " Mizpah," choir; solo, "Charity," Miss Hen wood ; address, Rev. R. Ferguson; solo, "Consider the Lilies," Mrs. Allan; chorue, " Sweet Sabbath Bells," choir; hymn, " Abide With Me." On the motion of Mr. Allan, seconded by Mr. VV. F. Massey, M.H.R., a vote of thanks was passed to the teachers and members of the congregation for providing refreshments, to Miss Scotb and those who assisted and gave musical items, to the speakers, and to Mr. Monro for presiding. —[Own Correspondent.]
