BLENHEIM CHORAL SOCIETY.
A. meeting was held m the Wesley Hall last night, when about thirty members were present. The first point for discussion was whether the Choral Society should go on or not. Various members spoke on the question, and it was eventually decided that the Society was not to be allowed to die. The members present pledged themselves to regular attendance for the next three months aud also promised to further the interests of the Bociety by canvassing for working and honorary members. Twenty-four pounds a year was reckoned altogether too much for the use of "Wesley Hall, and it was decided to call for tenders for the use of a hall for practice. The piece for the next performance will be Mendelesohn's " Lauda Zion." A practice is to be held next Tuesday, by which time it is hoped the piece will be procured. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the proceedings.
