A STRANGE MARRIAGE.

A strange marriage recently took place at Tuscarora, if a young lady named Maranoy Hughe3 is to be believed. She sends the following letter, dated May 17 th,* to the Tuscarora Time 3 Review : "I would like to enquire through the columna of your paper of the officers having charge of the prosecution of Sarah M. Pollard, whether there is not some law by which she can be punished for the imposition ahe has practised, and is still attempting to practise, on the public, or for the wrong she has inflicted upon me ? I notice in this morning's paper that you do not think the question of her sex can be proven in the examination on the charge upon which she has been arrested. Is there not some law by whicfi' the question can be settled and justica done to me? I have said, and now send you an affidavit for publication, that the person known as Samuel M. Pollard is a woman. lam actuated by no feeling of revenge in this matter, but by a desire to be set right before the public. I understand there are some people who disbelieve or profess to disbelieve my story, and all I ask is for legal measures to* be taken to prove its truth or falsity. If I have stated a falsehood, let the public brand me as the most infamous and shameless woman that disgraces the face of the earth. If my statement is true, let it appear that I am an unfortunate wronged woman, instead of a- base and wioked one."
