CHARGES LIKELY TO BE

DROPPED

WASHINGTON, June 29.

Somehow eluding the police, Representative Marion Zioncheck reached the Capitol today and retired to his office, where the Capitol police protected him Irom arrest under his Congressional immunity.

After a siege throughout the day there, Congressional officials reached an agreement with the police to allow him to return home to Seattle. Thus the charge of assault on his landlady and the contemplated lunacy charge will be dropped unless he again returns to Washington.

Representative , Marion Zioucheck (Democrat, Seattle) has been continually in trouble with the police for some weeks. He has been detained at least a dozen times for speeding in a car, and his landlady complained that when she tried to evict the Congressman on the night of an allegedly hilarious party, Zioncheck threw her out, breakhag her hip. On June 1 a police medical authority swore a lunacy warrant against Zioncheck, and he was confined in a municipal hospital for observation. Since the fracas with his landlady, it was stated, he had been in continual trouble. He was arrested and later released on a disorderly conduct charge. He smashed an automobile in a traffic accident, threatened to blow up a hotel whero he thought his wife was hiding from him, and finally called at the White House to ask President Roosevelt to assist him to search for her. Zioncheck was turned away from the executive ■ offices, but left a bag of empty beer bottles as a "gift" for the President. Shortly after this the police instituted lunacy action. Then last Sunday Zioncheck escaped from the mental hospital where he was -under observation.
