LOSS ON CHINA STATION

ALL ABOARD RESCUED

(British Official Wireless.) EUGBY, 12th November. H.M.S. Petersficld, the minesweeper of 710 tons with tho Commander-in-Chiof of tho China Station, Vice-Ad-miral Sir William Kelly, aboard, which ran ashoro on Wednesday night on the north side of Tungyung Island while on a passage from Shanghai to Foochow, is a total loss. The s.s. Dorflingor and the Canadian Pacific liner Empress of Asia went to tho Potersfiold's assistance, and the jruisers Suffolk and Cornwall proceedtd rapidly to tho scone. Tho northcast monsoon is understood to have toon raging at tho time. The Petersfield was a tender to tho ciuiser Kent, of the Fifth Cruiser Squadron. Admiral Kelly and 73 officevs and men on board were rescued, it is ■believed, br tho Goman liner Derfliigcr. lEessagcs from Admiral Kelly have been received by the Admiralty from the Canadian Pacific liner Empress of Asii, to which ho and the rest of tho croM may have been transferred.
