GERMANY'S NEW METHOD OF MURDER
DEADLY EFFECT OF CHLORINE LONDON, 29th April. Sir James Dewar says that there is little doubt that the latest German weapon ,is liquid chlorine, which, for some years, Germany has been manufacturing in tremendous quantities, practically supplyirig the world with chlorine. They undoubtedly have hundreds of tons available. When allowed to escape into the atmosphere it immediately evaporates and forms a yellow gas. If the wind were favourable it would be the easiest thing in the world to inundate the I'country for miles ahead. Being heavier than air, it drifts in a thick fog along the surface of the ground, and escape from its deadly effects it* well nigh impossible.
