COUNCIL CONTRACTS.
* Messrs. Lucas Browne, the successful tenderers ( for the right to display advertisement* inside the city tram cars, have signed the contract, the amount of which is £5900, covering a period of threo years. Unaccepted tenders were those 'of R. P. Chandler, Auckland (£2000), and the Dominion Sign Company (£1650). Mc-sers R. Hannah and Co. havo contracted to supply the City Council with boots for the Fire Brigade over a period of two veai's at a price of 30s & pair. Tho only other tender was that of H. Pannell and Co., of Christchurch, who quoted the same price. Messrs, Tonks and Andrews have signed a contract to supply the corporation with various grades of sand at schedule rates for the current year. The only other tenderer wa« P. Lamberg. W. Crabtree and Sons have contracted to supply an iron fence at £90. Unsuccessful tenderers were Luke and Co. (£9B), and D. Robertson a,nd Co. (£104).
