BRIGANDS ON THE AFGHAN BORDER.
♦ [PEEBS ASSOCIATION.] (Received February 9, 10.30 a.m.) Calcutta, Bth February. The brigands at Goornatti, near the Afghan border, agaiust whom a British force was sent from Edwardesabad, but compelled to retreat with the loss of six men killed and 14 wounded, have since the engagement abandoned their defences.
