The spirit of the New Zealanders who havo lost sons or other near relatives at tho front has been already remarked upon by Ministers of the Crown, who hare received letters from theso bravehearted men and women. Another instance of tho samo sort of heroism was shown in a. letter received by tli'e Primo Minister yesterday from a, friend to whom Mr. Massey had sent a mossago of sympathy regarding the loss of a son. This father wroto of his boy: "Ho fought for God, King, and Empire, truo and bravo, and worthy of tho traditions of his forefathers, and he diod at his post. I am trying to settlo my private business here. It will take some time, but I want to go to tho front to take his place. . . . My other two sons are anxious to go to tho front."
