LORD KITCHENER'S APPOINTMENT. United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, July 15. Lord Kitchener had a further interview with Sir Edward Grey, Foreign Secretary, in reference to his appointment to Egypt. It is understood that the status of the post of British Agent and Consul-General has been raised and th© emoluments increased. CAIRO, July 15. The Christian and the Moslem Press are favourable to Lord Kitchener's appointment, and agreo that a stroi#g man is needed. The commonts of the Nationalist papers are bitter. (Received July 17th, 1.12 a.m.) LONDON, July 16. It is officially announoed that Lord Kitchener has. succeeded th© late Sir Eldon Gorst as British Agent and Con-sul-General in Egypt.
