Cust.—On Monday the annual fete in aid of the funds of St. James's Church, Cust, was carried out by a sale of work in the Institute Hall, at which good sales were effected. In the evening an entertainment was given by Mr Seager with lantern slides of Alpine scenery, which were explained by the Rev. McKenzis Gibson, and afterwards the Rangiora Dramatic Society produced the farce " A Regular Fix," which was well received. The gross receipts for the day were reported to be about £50. Soanes, although injured by a collision, rode a Zealandia cycle 238? miles, beating the next man on an English Humber by eighteen miles. Orders executed promptly, and easy payments. N.
