Matchbox led on sufferance until entering tho straight, when Lord Rosebery's colt was given his head, and easily cutting down the leader, won comfortably. The enthusiasm displayed by the largo attendance has never been equalled at Epsom. Lord Kosebery received a great ovation, and the assistance of the police had to be called in to restrain his friends from crushing him. The news of Ladas' victory was received with excitement by the members of the House of Commons, and cheers were given for the winning horse
