HIDDEN TREASURE GOLDMINING COMPANY, Ltd.

A meeting of Nelson shareholders of the above Company(Mr Bisley in the chair) was held on Saturday evening, at Mr Bisley's rooms. The minutes of the itieeting held in Auckland on the) Bth inst. were 1 read, Mr Johns, the chairman of directors, then addressed the meeting, explaining the^work done by the directorate up to date, also giving some very interesting assays by various assayers, exhibiting some metal which had been fused from powders prepared from the ore by Mr J. Jacobsen's process, which had been pronounced as platinum and iridium the latter being in the greater quantity. The directors have decided to place 5,000 shares of £1 at a | reduction of 50 per cent, i.e., 5s on application and 5s in five months (2,000 of which had been taken up before the close of the Auckland meeting). They purpose with this to place machinery on the ground at once, and clear tracks to convey ore to the works. One thousand shares are at the disposal of the shareholders of Nelson, the share list to close on Saturday, the 20th inst, Mr Johns and their Engineer are proceeding to-day to tne mine to select sites for the track and works. The metals contained in this complex ore are gold and silver in great quantities, which can only be extracted by Mr Jacobsen's process to any advantage. — Communicated.
