Entering the Abingdon Mile Bottom Lady Rosebery passed Insurance, and for a stride or two nearly reached the heels of Cypria and R<-d Eyes, who were battling together in good earnest. In climbing the final ascent "her ladyship" fell away again, and after the issue had hung in the balance between the other two, each leading slightly in the last 100 yds, the result was a dead heat. Lady Rosebeiy finished third, at an interval of three lengths. The stakes (value ,£1135) were divided. Time, 4min 2sec. Thursday, October 12.
