In another 100 yds the issue was virtually over, as Marcion simply left Buccaneer and Rsgimunde standing still, and when Orvieto took third place a quarter of a mile from home, the three-year-old was alone in his glory. From the distance the pursuit was abandoned, and Marcion passed the judge's box, pulling double, with an eightlengths' verdict from Bucoaneer, while Ragimunde was half as far behind.
