In this order they ran for half the journey, when Grecian Bend retired, and Jack o1o 1 Lantern took up the running, attended by Prudence, Financier, Maiden Belle, and Lyddington, with Fulmen close up on the right. At the distance Jack o' Lantern and Prudence were beaten, leaving Maiden Belle in front of Fulmen, Financier, and Saucy Lass until 100 yds from home, where Fulmen challenged Maidon Belle, and heading her in a few strides drew out, and won easily by a length and a-balf. Saucy Lass, three lengths off, was third, Financier; fourth, Grecian Bend fifth, Jack o' Lantern sixth, Prudence seventh, Franciscan eighth, Glint ninth, Lyddington tenth, Assiduity eleventh, Admiral Benbow twelfth, Coriander next, and Yule Tide last.
