There was a delay of 20 minutes at the post, as Distiuian would not go near his horses, aud then Whitelock and Petersham became fractious. At length the flag fell, Hambletonian coming' away from Doubloon, Pearl Driver, and Craf ton, with Distinian aud Petersham on the right, and Whitelock on the left, for a furlong, when Crafton was steadied ; and at the Bushes Doubloon and Pearl Driver were the leading pair, Crafton having lost his place. Coming down the hill Pearl Driver went to the front, and in the dip was challenged by Distinian and Doubloon. The former shook them both off, and Doubloon, heading Distinian a few strides later, was beaten by three-quarters of a length, with Distinian a neck behind Doubloon.
