Lord Falmouth took Doncaster Belle (an own sister to Sir Reuben, bred by Sir Tatton Sy kee) for lOOOgs, and his Lordship's pur chases did not end here, as one of Mr Crowther Harrison's fillies, Green Snake, by Robert the Devil out of Evergreen, was booked to him, as well as a colt by Sterling out of Wild Duchess in, the other ring. The young Rosicrucians from the Sandgate stud were much admired, and the colt by Rosiorucian out of Mantilla topped the list at lOoOgs, being bought at that figure by Mr E, C. Clayton. Maud S. is now at Hartford being prepared by her old trainer, Bair, to trot in public against 2. 9g. She will not be allowed to Btart for purse, premium, stake, or wager. ' A shocking accident occurred on Charter Oak Park racecourse, near Hartford, Conn,, on Aug. 27. Two well known trotting horses, ' one an animal valued at £900, were being exercised for a race, when, it it alleged, in consequence of one of the sulky-drivers being dazzled by the sun, which phone directly in his face, they came into collision as they were going at a great rate and were proceeding in opposite dii ections, the concussion being fearful. The drivers were thrown into the air, one having his ankle broken and his spine injured, and the other suffering tremendously from the shock. Tho £900 horse was pierced by a shaft and died almost immediately, whilst the other poor animal must have sustained spinal hurts, as his hindquarters were found to bo completely paialysed. .
