A slight break away preceded an excellent start, and on .settling down Havock, who had jumped off in front of Lizzie, Donald, and Prince Rudolph, was steadied, and Donald drew to the fore, being followed past the stand by Prince Rudolpb, Lizzie, and Narcissa, this being the order round the turn out of the straight, after passing which Stockholm; John Jones, Spectrum, and Lizzie became the attendants on the leading pair, with Havock, Brocken, and Florence in the rear. When half the journey had been covered Stockholm ran into second place, and Prince Rudelph waa rapidly passed by Lizzie, Spectrum, and John Jones. Passing the mile-post the attendants on the leader were Stockholm, Spectrum, Loch Ranza, John Jones, with Florence gradually drawing towards the front rank. At tho last turn Stockholm headed Donald, who soon after gave way to Loch Ranza and Florence aIBO, but neither ef this pair oould get near Stookholnvsvho won by six lengths ; a like distanoe between second and third. Lizzie waa fourth, Donald fifth, Havock sixth, and John Jones next ; the others, pulling up, being whipped in by Prince Rudolph. Time, 4 mm. 53 3-5 seo.
