Harvester is engaged in the Epaom Grand Prize and St. Lager, besides other valuable stakes. Of him the Sportsman^ special commissioner recently wrote i— v Harvester has wintered aß'well as any horse in 1 training, and remained perfectly sound on his limbs. St. Gatien was never mentioned in the Derby betting until April, when be was introduced »t 40 to 1. Indeed, the stock of Hermit are, as a whole, free from any wind infirmity. In. By this remark I may explain to the uninitiated that the hoofs of her fore feet have been cut with a drawing knife in Boveral liuQ3, or " razes," from the coronet to the toe, so as to allow of the feet expanding, and to ameliorate the effects of concussion on the hard ground.
