Th.a fifte a n compefcitors were weighed out with extreme pucc&uiUity, and reached the post a few minutes before the time fixed for the start, A slight delay was caused by Cadogan and Gunnersbury breaking away as they walked up to Mr M 'George, but at the firat attempt tue fhg full to a good start. For a few strides the lot ran in a Hue, the first to break tha uniformity bsing Bute, who, on a mission to make the pace for his stable companion, was seat to the front at the top of bi3 speed, and soon placed an interval of half-a-dozen leDgths between himself and his immediate followers. On the stand aide of the course the colours of Cadogan were prominent, Gunnerßbury and Ruiierra lying as hid quarters iv toe middle of the oourae. Before reaching the Abingdou Mill Bottom Cadogan raoed past Bute, who went on second, and was followed by Strathern, Ruperra, Discord, Zut, and Eayon dOr, Charibert makiug up his ground and now taking close order with this division, of whom Zut, Discord, Rupera, and Strathern hung out signals of distress when the foot of the hill was reached. Making the ascent for home Cadflgau held a, clear lead of Rayon dOr, who up to this point had been going well, and (Jharibert gradually getting oa tirma with the JYecea horße, the pair challenged Oadogan. Rayon ] dOr, however, cmld not climb tha hill, which ,Chariberb did iv ' the moat resolute fashion, and, getting the better of Cadogan after passing the distance, Charibert won somewhat easily by a length and a-half ; Rayon dOr was third, four lengths off ; thtn a kimilar distance from the French horse, Strathera, Bute, Discord, and Ruperra finiahtd head and hoad just clear of Zut, XTncas, and Visconti. On the Btand side cairn Abbaye clear oi Ellaogwan aud Rosalind. Reconciliation being in the rear until Whticl of Fortune w»s pulled- b»ck to her in tho first quarter of a mile. Loch T»nn» was beaten at the bushed, and Ellangowan also dropped away soon afterwards. Reconciliation then drew up to Abbaye, and had her head in froiit for a fow strides, Wheel of Fortune rapidly improving her posilion, and drawing up to the ltadere, of whom Abbaffl, descending the hill, ag*in drew clear of Reconciliation, who was passed by Wheel of Fortune, who joined Abbaye in the Abingdon Bottom, and the raoe was then over, Wheel of Fortune drawing away every stride, and. winning in a, canter by four lent<tb.B ; Reconciliation, beaten quite six lengths from Abbaye, was aa far in front of Peace, who d<feate>l Eliangowan by a length, close up with the latter be ; D# Jessie Apfnei, the ofcherd ba&tea off. They reached the post in excellent time, and were despatched to a capital start at the first attempt, Votary being tb.9 first; away, having Zucchero and Mountain A3h as her immediate attendants ; but they had scarcely proceeded a hundred y^rds when Deludevran through his horses and forced t'uo running, with a slight baft of Votary and Mountain A.ah, to whom succeeded Zacchero, Reefer, Ridotto, Tara Glen, and Astronomer, with Touchet and Parole in the roar; but on rounding the G-iosvonor bridge tain Mountain Ash became the laader, closoly attended by Astronomer, Zucehoro, Reefer, and Votary, with the others close in their track, in which order they canae past the stand, with Parole and Touchet atill iv tho rear. Rounding the Workhouse turn Astronomer, in company with Zuech<ro, appeared iv advance, the pair being followed by Mountain Ash, Reefer, and Ridotto nearly abreast, with the two heavy-weights drawn up as they proceeded along the Dae side, with Votary and Deluder tailed off; but on reaching the mile-post Reefer assumed the command, and came on clear of Astronomer, Zucchero, and Ridotto, with Parole and Touchet; in attendance to tho Grosvenor bridge turn. Hrre Zucchero gave way, leaving Astronomer and Ridotto in atfcendauce upon Lord Dupplin's colt;, the Kidera running in close company to tho turn for home, when Parole,with Touchet on hid whip haud, joined tho leaders, and from this point they ran in cloae company to the wad, when Parole ran up to the quarters of Ridotto, but at the same time Constable brought up Teuchet with a rush and headed the lavourite, but, failing to quite reach Reefer, wao beaten cleverly by a length ; a similar distance between second and third, with Parole a length in tho rear o£ Ridotto j Astronomer fifth, close up j Tarn Glen sixth, Zacchero seventh, 'and Mountain Ash next, with Votary and Deluder last.
