OCCUPATION OF CITY EVENT OF NAZI COUP By Telegraph— Press Association—Copyright (Heecivctl July 3, 10.1."> p.m.) LOXDON, July 3 It is reported that Polish troops . jtre in readiness to occupy Danzig in the event of a Nazi coup there, states an Independent Cable Service message. The frontier garrisons have been 'heavily reinforced. The situation in the Free City has not deteriorated, although tension persists, says a United Press Association message. The city continues quiet. Numbers of so-called German tourists continue to arrive, but the Polish Government is calm and fully satisfied with British. assurances. ' The Nazi leader, Herr Forster, stated yesterday /hat the people of Danzig "pre united to a man in the wish to return to Germany and will do so. - They are prepared to make any sacrifice to gain this end, including the giving, of. their lives. . An emergency decree, issued at Warsaw, makes it compulsory for every householder throughout Poland to provido his owit . air raid protection before September 1. A commission will be appointed to supervise the installations. • A message from Munich states that Herr Hitler has left that city to attend the, State funeral of General Knochenhauer at Hamburg.
