POLAND MILITANT

FUTURE OF DANZIG LIKELY COUNTER-PROPOSALS COPYING NAZI METHODS LOWER HOUSE SUMMONED By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Independent Cablo Service (Received May 2, O.'IO p.m.) LONDON. May 2 It is believed Poland has decided not only to resist Germany's demands, but to make counter-pro-posals regarding Danzig, says a message from Warsaw. A full meeting of the Lower House has been called for Friday, when the Foreign Minister, Colonel Beck, will make a statement of Poland's attitude toward the Reich.

At the same time tho Polish representative in Berlin will hand over the Polish reply to the German memorandum, thus following tho German example established at tho time of Herr Hitler's speech. Tho Australian Associated Press says reports from Warsaw that Poland has decided to copy German diplomatic methods by demanding a Polish protectorate ovec Danzig, have infuriated the German press, which declares this to be grotesque because Danzig is a German city.

Symptomatic of Poland's stiffened attitude to Germany is the Polish retail newspaper sellers' decision not to circulate German newspapers on the ground that they are publishing improper articles about Poland, says the Warsaw correspondent of the British United Press.

It is reported from Danzig that bombs were thrown into a Polish Customs officer's lodgings in tho Free City, but little damage was done. One unexploded bomb was of tho German military type.
