+ Lytlelton Times Office, Tuesday Evening. Messrs. Hargreaves and Co., this day, held a sale at Messrs. Walton, Warner, and Co.'s stores, of sundry merchandise, part of the assets in the estate of Mr. Urquhart Macpherson. The attendance was good and bids very spirited, as the result of sale shows. The following were the prices realized 111 bond Cigars, No. 2 Manilla, 57s 6d per thousand ; fig tobacco, 2s 9d per lb, flat Ud ; port wine in wood, 8s to 9s, in case, 28s per doz.; sherry, 5s 6d to 6s per gal.; champagne, star brand, quarts, 28s, pints, 19s; brandy, in wood, cask, 8s Cd to 9s 6d ; whiskey, in wood, 3s 3d ; old torn, in case, 12s ; geneva, J.D.K.Z., lis per case ; rum, 8.0. p,, 4s 3d per gallon ; Hennessy's brandy, 31s 6d per doz.; sugar, Melbourne, LC., 425, LW., 445, Sydney, Y.C., 40s; tea, chests, good quality, £7 to £8 Bs, half-chests, £3 6s to £4, boxes, 235; coffee, ground English, in tins, lOd. The total amount of sale was upwards of £2000. Messrs. Burnell, Bennett, and Sprot sold the freehold estate known as Chippenham Lodge, consisting of 25 acres of meaaow land, with a six-roomed brick cottage and outbuildat St. Albans', near Christchurch. The price realised was £1400.
