GERMAN ELCTIONS

THE DANZIG RETURNS

BY CABLE- PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYEIGHT

(Received May 20, 9.15 a.m.) BERLIN, May 18. The Sandtag elections in Brunswick, Mecklenburg, and Strelitz, and the Constituents Assembly election in Danzig reveal a retrograde tendency. Many Plural Socialists, have gone over to the Independents, and a great many * Democrats have joined the Conservatives. The German Popular Party at Danzig secured 34 seats, the Majority Socialists 19, Independent Socialists 21, and Poles 7. .

The elections fairly indicate the possible trend of the Reichstag elections.
