The Queen Charlotte Sound Goldniininp Company of New Zealand, with a capital of £200,000, has been registered. In the House of Commons Mr Henry H. (Received May 11, 1.35 p.m.) The weekly^ returns of the Bank of England show the reserve in notes and bullion to be £13,300,000, and the proportion of the reserve to liabilities 40$ per cent, being a decrease of £176,000 in the reserve of last week.

Consols are at 99 ; the tone of the marked is firmer.

New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stock has declined £ per cent, and is quoted at 105 J.

Australian wheat, ex warehouse, averages 395; New Zealand long berried, ex store, 38s 3d. The market is weaker,

The copper market is recovering, and tke quotation is now £40 per ton.

The tallow market is quiet ; best mutton is at 25s 6d to 265, and beef the same.

Before the Parnell Commission to-day Father Considme' was examined, and stated that the National League had never brought to justice any persons wko had committed a crime. He admitted saying in 1880 that every wretch who refused to join the League deserved to go to cold dead damnation. Father Cjnsidine then went on to describe the distressed condition of tenants living in Mayo, and said that their houses were worse than the kennels and stables of the wealthy landlords. No attempt whatever had been made to alleviate their misery, and neither Lord Dillon (who is an extensive landowner in Mayor), nor his predecessors had ever Been one of the 4500 of their tenants on the estate. He admitted having encouraged priests to become members of the League, and urged them to maintain its legality. The suppression of the League had, he said, caused the revival of secret secieties. He disapproved of boy. cotting and shunning men as if they were lepers.

It is expected that the charge of murder on which Father M'Fadden stands committed for trial will be withdrawn. The charges against several others who are alleged to have been implicated in the death of Inspector Martin will, however, be gone on with.

The Antwerp wool sales will "extend from the 20th to the 25tji instant. Fifteen thousand biles will be offered, including 1000 bales from Australia.
