IN-VERCARGILL, Dec. 4. . me Magnstenal enquiry into the wreck of the Dundonald on Disappointment Island was held to-day be(S re ,Mr McCarthy, S.M.. Captain *N .McDonald (.Bluff harbor master) and Oaiptain Silba, of the \%akatane! Evidence was given by. the second and third mates, and by- Einlon,! who was the look-out man on the night of the wreck. The evidence disclosed no new facts.. It is not known whether or cargo were insured. The finding will bs gvien in the ordinary *w.3y. . ■
••- "• As a result of representations by the Mayor to Mr. Waite, curator of the .Canterbury Museum, the boat made by the Dundonald survivors is allowjed to remain here, and will be exhibited for : -the benefit of the surviv- ! ors of the wreck. Many peopJe paid to see it, and the takings amounted to £22. .
