DERBY PARTICULARS.
London, June 4. A capital start was effected for the Derby. Rathbeal was first away, but Ocwetl with Kirkham quickly appeared in \ front and led for a quarter of a mite, i Kirkham assumed the sole command for a furlong. Orwell In the meantime headed Sainfoin, and Golden Gate came up next. When a mile had been covered Kirkham had dropped back to fifth place after his brief Bpurr, and at the top of the hill Sainfoin took np the running, Kirkham being last. At the distance Sniefoot was beaten. Leonard made a desperate rush, bub Sainfoin stalled It off and came In first by threeqnartera of a length. Orwell was a neck behind Le Nord and a head In front of Surefoot. Kirkham is not likely to start foe the Gfraud Prix. The "Darby time was 2mlna 49|secs.
