The final classic race of the season was run at Newmarket yesterday and resulted as follows :— NEW ST. LEGEK STAKES, £100 each with £2500 added; for three-year-olds; 1% miles. Tehran, 11. H. Aga Khan's b c, by Bois Roussel—Stafaralla, 0.0 (G. Richards) . 1 j Borcalls, Lord Derby's <:h c, by Bruroeux — Aurora, 0.0 (11. Wragg) 2 Ocean Swell. Lord Rosebery's b c. by Blue Peter—Jiffy, 0.0 (E. Smith) 3 Won by ono length and ;i half. Time, 3.(> l-ij. Winner bred by Prince Aly Khan and trained by Frank Butters at Newmarket.
Tehran ran third to Garden Puth and Growing Confidence in the New Two Thousand Guineas, and second to Ocean Swell in the New Derby Stakes. Ills sire. Bois Roussel, who was bred in France, won the Derby Stakes in 193S for Mr. P. Bcatty. Tehran's dam is the Solario mare Stafnralla, a. granddaughter of Pretty Polly.—"Binocular."
