The incomplete details available show that Herringbone was unplaced in the Lidgate Stakes at Ascot on July 1, the Nearco filly Lady Sybil being the winner, and she later ran third to Open Warfare and Moonstone in tho Balsham Stakes, 6 furlongs, at Newmarket. In the weighting for the T.Y.O. Free Handicap last season (the race was not run), Lady Sybil was allotted top weight of 9.7, with Nasrullah at 9.6. Ribbon, winner of the Bedford Plate at Newmarket on May 13 last, was awarded 9.3, with Cincture and Herringbone at 8.12 and 8.4 respectively.—"Binocular."
