FOUR MEN KILLED, TWO WOUNDED
The following official statement was issued today:—
The Naval Board regret to announce the following casualties sustained by H.M.S. Achilles in the action with the German armoured ship Admiral Graf Spec:— NEW ZEALAND NAVAL FORCES. Killed. Archibald Cooper Hirst Shaw, Able Seaman, N.Z.D. 1030. Oturoa Road, Ngongotaha, Rotorua, New Zealand. Lan William Grant, Ordinary Seaman, N.Z.D. (S.S.) 1734, 44 Cavell Street, Tainui, Dunedin, SI, New Zealand. Seriously Wounded. Edgar Vivian Sherley, Able Seaman, .. N.Z.D. 1163, Roche Street, Te Awamutu, New Zealand. Lincoln Campbell Martinson, Chief Yeoman of Signals. N.Z.D. 345, 2 St. Aubyn's Street, Devonport, Auckland, New Zealand. ROY;iL NAVY. Killed.
