LONDON, August 9.
A message from Berlin states that Herr Foerster. Nazi leader in Danzig, returned to the Free City by air from Obersalzburg and will make an important speech tomorrow even-
nig. The Berlin correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" states that the meeting at which Herr Foerstev is to speak is to be held to express the desires of Herr Hitler, who has laid down the lines of the speech. No slackening of tension is noticeable in Berlin, where it is still believed that if the worst comes England and France will not support Poland. Italy and Germany are understood to have reached a "full agreement."
Reports in the Germa.. Press of ill treatment of Germans in Poland continue to inflame sentiment.
The Warsaw correspondent of "The Times" announced that Polish guards fired on three Germans who crossed the frontier on August 6, wounding one of them. The fact that the incident was hushed up for three days indicates the care the authorities are taking to observe restraint as urged by England and France. The Warsaw correspondent of the Associated Press of America reports that leave of absence will not be granted in the Polish army after August 15, owing to belief that a showdown is likely, though not necessarily by means of war.
A message from Rome says it is understood that the Foreign Minister, Count Ciano, may shortly visit Berlin to confer regarding Germany's Danzig proposals.
The Paris correspondent of the British United Press states that the decision of the French Premier M. Daladier. to prolong his holiday confirms the impression in Paris that the Danzig situation, is not expected to become acute.
