60,000 UNDER ARMS
FEARS OF COMPLETE CONTROL CUSTOMS HINDRANCES HEAVY LOSS TO POLAND (Independent Cabio Service.) (Received July 31, 11.45 a.m.)] -j WARSAW, July 30. Unofficial estimates of the militarisation of Danzig place the numi ber of Nazis under arms in the city at 25,000. The total in the whola Free City area of 475 square miles, containing towns and villages, is 60,000. Because of Nazi hindrances and. obstructions, the Polish Customs officials are finding it most difficult to supervise imports into Danzig, resulting in heavy loss to Poland. Diplomatic observers declare that Poland must take action if the activities of storm troopers on the wharves are not stopped, and that unless this is done soon Danzig will become completely Nazified.
