ROYAL WELCOME
CROWD OF 250,000

RUGBY, June 2.
The King and Queen had a great welcome from a crowd estimated at 250,000-when they drove on to the Epsom Downs this afternoon.' and ■ together with other members of the Royal Family saw from the Roy-aJ box Mid-day Sun win the race for the Derby Stakes. The owner of the winner. Mrs. G. B. Miller, is the first woman to win the Derby at Epsom, and she was congratulated by their Majesties after the race. The second horse is also owned by a woman.
The King gave a dinner party to the members of the Jockey Club at Buckingham Palace tonight.
