ENGLISH FOLK. DRAMA

. A very successful function organised by the E.O.W. Circle of-the Pioneer Ciub was held in the clubrooms recently, when Miss Hilda Taylor, of the Wellington Training College, gave ..a talk-on English folk dances. Miss Taylor described- the'dances which were given by her pupils from the Training College. ■■ Two Morris jigs, "Old Mother Hubbard," and "Princess Royal were danced by Miss Taylor.' Members and guests were invited to join in the dances, "Rufty Tufty," and "Salcnger's Round," which they did with great enthusiasm. '■ The club's singing circle also assisted and gave some delightful old English songs. Mrs. Walter Duncan sang the "Floral Dance/ which was later danced by the pupils. Miss A. Kane, president, gave an account of folk dances she had seen on her recent tour. Miss Woodhoiise (circle president) thanked Miss Taylor, her pupils, alsothe singing circle, for providing such an unusual entertainment. Supper was served. , ■, On another evening circle members visited the Turnbull Library, when a very interesting time was spent in seeing the wonderful treasures the library contains. Afterwards -members were the guests of Miss Alice Woodhoust and Miss Vera Dawson at supper.
