RESULT OF RECOUNT
MRS. MCCOMBS'S MAJORITY
The final result of the Lyttelton byelection was announced today by the Chief Electoral Officer (Mr. G. G. Hodgkins). The figures were as follows :— Elizabeth E. McCombs (Labour) 6344 E. L. Hills (Independent Labour) 269 F. W. Freeman (Coalition) 3675 Majority for Mrs. McCombs .. 2669 Mrs. McCombs has now been formally declared elected, and she will take her seat in the House of Eepresentatives tomorrow afternoon.
