OLD HOTEL BURNT

(By Telegwpu.—Press Association.) CHRISTOHUECH, This Day. lire destroyed the Hilltop Hotel, an old landmark on Banks Peninsula, last night. Virtually nothing was saved. It was :i double-story wooden building built in 1880, and was a popular stopping place in the old coaching days. The hotel was owned by H. J. Bell, of Christchurch, and insured for £000 in the South British office. M. Petty, the licensee, is a heavy loser. The Government telephone bureau was also destroyed.
