PARNELL BY-ELECTION
LABOUR CAMPAIGN
MR. YARNALL WITHDRAWS

AUCKLAND, This Day.
Mr. J. W. Yarnall, Labour .candidate for Paraell. in 1925, : announced yesterday that -tie would, not bo a nominee for selection as Labour candidate at tho forthcoming by-election, as ho believes that Mr. T. Blood-worth has a^stronger claim.
Mr. Bloodworth will, however, have another contender.for the. official Labour candidature, in Mrs. M. M. Dreaver, of Ponsonby, a member of the Labour Representation Committee, who stated yesterday that she had. consented to bo nominated. ■'.."• .'. ', '
The nominations, which, will close on Monday, .will be forwarded to the national executive in. Wellington to make a selection. " '
The Beforrri Party executive for the Parnell electorate has decided to call meetings of supporters for next Thursday evening. The electorate has been divided into about twenty groups, and conveners for each group meeting have been asked to arrange for all meetings to be held at the same hour. At those meetings delegates'to attend, the conference at which the official candidate will be chosen will bo appointed. The (1 *-c for the conference of, delegates has not yet been announced.
Mr. W. 0. Hewitt, who announced early in tho "week that ho would contest the by-election as a "Liberal-Labour candidate, returned to Auckland last night. Mr. Hewitt contested the Auckland Central as United candidate in 1928. Asked to define his present position, Mr. Hewitt said that ho had promised to confer with Mr. J. Trevethick, chairman of tho provincial executive of the United Party to-day, and was accordingly iiot prepared to make any statement until after that time.
