In the vacc for the Derby, the other starters were Fairway, Sunny Trace, Gang Warily, Itaujihsinghi, Royal Minstrel, Bubbles, Camelford, Ferncloof, Palais Royal, Posthole, Advocate, Constantson, Grangeview, Koyal Crusader, Scintillation, and Yeomanstown. The -weather -was fine and there was a .record attendance, including the members oE the Koyal FamilyThe terrific pace in the first six furlongs killed the popular favourites and ensured Felstead's easy victory. Felstead , almost cantered home. Jle was eight" lengths -behind Sunny Trace and Klaininso descending the hill before TtiUenliam Corner, but completely conquered Flamingo a 'I'iaitor of a mile from home. The jockey fWragg) says I hat Kelslcail was third at Tattcnliam Corner, and was going easily when Sunny Truce and Flamingo were tiring. He knew then (hat he was going to win and sat still.
