RUSSIAN STATE JEWELS
AUCTION SALE IN LONDON
(United Press Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, 15th March. Great interest centres in the auctioning at Christie's on Wednesday of a portion of the Bussian State jewels, Which experts think will possibly-rea-lise a quarter of a million sterling. Yesterday was view day, and a stream of sightseers visited the auction rooms. When the doors closed ah inconspicuous limousine {trove up and Queen Mary alighted and spent half an hour privately examining the pathetic treasures. The room presented the appoar* aiico of a fairy palace, resplendent with a nuptial crown of brilliaht jewels, pearl tiaras, necklaces, and the rarest gems.
