SOLDIERS' DEATHS

The Defence Department advises that the following soldiers have died in New Zealand :—

E.iflemah Edward Westell Catchpole, 12976, a discharged soldier, died from influenza, at Westport on the 7th November. Deceased was 44 years of age, and single, his next-of-ldn being his sister, Mrs. Holder, 'Seddonville. Private Frank Sibbit, 12/248, a discharged soldier, died from influenza at the Vermont-street Temporary Hospital, on 19th November. He was 27- years of age, and marrisd, his next-of-kin bein^ his. wife, Mrs. Adelaide Sibbit, 23, Phillipps-street, Auckland. Private Thomas Diedrick Marcussen, 25116, a discharged soldier, died at the Southland Hospital from influenza on 4th November. Deceased was 22 years of age, and single, his next-of-ldn being his mother, Mrs. Agne3 Marcussen, Box 16, The Bluff.

Trooper Henry Edmonds Blackwood, 34980, an undischarged soldier, died on 25th November. Deceased was 23 years of age, and single, his next-of-kin being his mother, Mrs. Blackwood, 168, Main South-road, Caversfoam, Dunedin. i

George Samuel Jennings, 12/1997, a discharged soldier, died at his parent's residence, Te Aroha, on 19th November. Deceased was 35 years of age r and single, his next-of-kin being his father, Mr. Edward Jennings, Te Aroha.

Lance-Cpl. Cyril Jeffery Kelsall, 3854 a discharged soldier, died at the Auckland Military Hospital annexe of influenza on 25th November. Deceased wa6 24 years of age, and single, his next-of-kin being his mother, Mrs. W. Kelsall, Auckland-road, Onehunga, Auckland.

Private Henry Nicholls M'Gregor Laird, 12/2554, a discharged soldier, died at the Auckland Hospital on 23rd November from influenza. Deceased was 29 yeara of age, and single, his next-of-kin being, his father, Mr. Edward Nicholls Lsrra, Haon-street, off Brighton-road, ParneU.

Rifleman James Charles Booth, 46430, an undischarged soldier, died at his home at Port AJbert on 29th October from pneumonic-influenza. Deceased was 28 years of age, and married, his,next-of-kin being his wife, Mrs. J. C.' jjootii, Port Albert,

Joseph Lucas, 16/276, of the Maori Conting«Dt. died at the Returned Soldiers' Hostel, The Terrace, Wellington, on Bth November, the cause of death being pleurisy and pneumonia. Deceased was 26 years of age, and single, his next-of-ldn being hiss mother, Mrs. Utitoria Lucas, Bullcr Bridge, Westport. He was a discharged soldier.
