LONDON, 30th May. The meeting at Newmarket was a quiet one, the usual public features being conspicuously absent. There was a small attendance. Ten started in the Derby, Kwangsu being favourite. He looked a sure'winner 200 yds from the post, but Fifinella came on the rails and won in an exciting finish by a neck in the last few strides,- a head between second and third.

His Majesty the King's Friar Marcus won the Chesterfield Handicap from Vanite and Queen, of the Seas.
