ARRIVAL OF PASTOR CHINIQUY AT AUCKLAND. [per press agency.] Auckland, This Day.

Pastor Chiniquy arrived by tho Hero from Sydney to-day. He was mot and welcomed by the members of the Reception Committee, alao by twenty officers and many members of the Orange Lodges. Pastor Chiniquy was asleep in his cabin at the time, but was awakened, and on entering the saloon he was received with enthusiastic cheering. He thanked those present, and trusted they would work together to fight the battles of the Lord, not physically, but spiritually. He said that one of the last persons he had shaken hands with on leaving Sydney was a Roman Catholic gentleman from New Zealand, who gave him great encouragement. He also said his health was very good. Referring to his being woke up in his cabin, he said jocularly that he did not expeot to be caught napping by his friends, and to show them he waa fighting man he had struck his fist in the face of the first man who waked him. Having delivered a prayer for the success of his mission, he retired to his cabin. He is accompanied by a French-Canadian, named Parent, who intends to devote himself to laboring in the Chiniquy mission among the French Canadians. Detectives and police in plain clothes and . uniforms wore o^ the wharf in case their services were required. Chiniquy landed in the forenoon. At a meeting of the Orange Lodges last evening a resolution was carried to protect and aid Pastor Chiniquy, and a feeling expressed that the best way to maintain the peace was to be prepared for war.
