Thc abandoned fixtures included the Epsom Summer Meeting, at which thc Derby was set down for decision, this world famous event having hitherto had an unbroken history eince 17S0. A later cable mes&agc etated that tho Jockey Club had decided to put, on a race fox Derby horses and also one for fillies engaged ill the Oaks to bo run at Newmarket dirrins Ascot Week. The "message probably meant in effect that the Derby and the Oaka had been transferred from Epsom to Newmarket. The bulk of the stake for the Epeom Derby is provided by tbe owners themselves by way of Bweepstakes, but ita value is guaranteed by the proprietary to be not leee than GSOO rove. Pommern's victory in the race run yesterday would no doubt bo generally anticipated in view of hi* victory in the Two Thousand Guineas at Newmarket -on April 23th.
