S Tho race for the Two Thousand Guineas is always looked forward to with a good deal of interest, as it is the first of the season's claw-ids in England, and the result affords some indication of tho, prospects for the Derby: Pommorn, who was- bred by his owner, showed good form m a two-year-old, as he started in only four races and won two of them. At Goodwood in- Jnly he won the Richmond Stakes, and at Kempton Park, in October, he was successful in the Imperial Produce Plate. A fortnight ago Pommern ran eecond Jn the Craven Stake* at Newmarket, being beaten by Sir John Thurßby*B Rossendale. The King's colt, Friar Marcus,' was engaged in the Two Thousand t-uineas, but presumably did not start.
