Halkett ... 19 ... 38 Dunsandel ... 53 17 Springston ... 42 ... 47 Leeston ... 130 ... 128 "ill ! 230 Majority for Mr Fitzroy ... 14 The poll was declared amidst immense excitement. Both candidates afterwards addressed the electors.
