SINKER OF POMMERN.
London, July 21 In tho House of Commons Commander T, C. Bsllairs asked the naraa of the officer commanding tho British submarine which sank the German battleship Poruruern ia the Baltic on July 2. # Dr McNamara, Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty, said that no oilicial report had been received, but a Russian semi-official report grave the name of the commander as Max Her ton.
This is the first ocoasion on which the name of the sunken battleship has been mentioned. When the account of the incident was cabled it was said to be a ship of tho Doutschland type. The Potnmern was completed in 1907. She was a ship of 12,997 ton«, speed 18 knots and her largest guns wero four 11 in.
