EX-MINISTERS' DEATHS
SIR ALFRED RANSOM, K.C.M.G. (P.A.) DANNEVIRKE, this day. Sir Alfred Ransom, M.P., K.C.M.G., aged 75 years, died early this morning after a brief illness. He leaves a widow and a married son and daughter. , A saddler by trade, the Hon. Sir Ethelbert Alfred Ransom, M.P., had occupied the Pahiatua Parliamentary seat since 1922, and had occupied the positions of Nationalist AVhip from 1925 to 1928, deputy-leader of the United party in 1928, Ministry of Public Works (Ward Government) 1925-30, Minister of Lands (Forbes Government and Coalition party 1930-31), and acting-Prime Minister in 1931 and 1933. when he was made K.C.M.G.
