HUSSIF PATTERNS.
DRILL AND FLANNEL SUPPLIES. Information with regard to the standard hussif pattern to be made for members of the lighting services is contained in a memorandum forwarded by the Auckland Provincial Patriotic Council to the various zone secretaries, together with samples and material. The memorandum states that sufficient pieces of drill to satisfy half the number of covers comprising the immediate quota set out in the revised schedule of zone allocations have been forwarded t" zono secretaries, and also a supply of flannel waste from which the requisite 4Ain squares can readily !>e cut. The ta|>e. states the memorandum, is to be purchased locally. The balance of the drill and flannel waste will l>c dispatched immediately after its receipt in Auckland, and any pieces of drill which prove inadequate for the making of the covers will be reserved for conversion into Army paybook covers in accordance with a pattern to be forwarded later. The sample hussif is to be accepted as a guide to design, the actual mea.-ure- ; incuts being as follows: Cover complete. I 12in by -~>Ain (approximately); pocket. 1 - 2in deep: flannel piece. 4\in square; | (ape (Ain to 3-Sin) per hussif, -)2in, Imade up of two lengths of Tin. two: lengths of Gin and two lengths of Sin. 1
